Former National Signals Bureau (NSB) Director-General Kwabena Adu-Boahene and his wife, Angela Adjei-Boateng, are still being held at the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) headquarters, according to their attorney, Samuel Atta Akyea.
Both of them has been placed under arrest while inquiries into claims of corruption and financial mismanagement proceed.
In an interview with Citi Prime News, Lawyer Atta Akyea discussed the situation and said he had faith in his client’s fortitude and will to see justice done.
“He is still behind bars at EOCO headquarters, and I know he is determined to relax until justice will set him free,” the lawyer stated.
The case has garnered a lot of public interest, with headlines dominated by claims of embezzlement and misappropriation of public monies.
The former MD of the NSB, Adu-Boahene, is charged with transferring money meant for cybersecurity infrastructure into personal accounts.
The current inquiries also involve his wife.
By highlighting the significance of due process and the presumption of innocence, Atta Akyea has criticized the way the case has been handled.
He reaffirmed his dedication to making sure his clients are given a fair trial and that their rights are respected at every stage of the court case.
