At an Eid-ul-Fitr street carnival in Kasoa, in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region, two Muslim youth groups engaged in a violent altercation that left three persons seriously injured.

Treatment for the victims is presently being provided at the Kasoa Polyclinic.

According to reports, the Sunday night brawl was caused by unresolved tensions between the two groups.

Prior to the fasting time, there were disagreements between the factions, according to Mohamed Osman, who spoke with eyewitness Adom News.

Three days prior to the carnival, Osman claims that elders stepped in to encourage restraint after hearing rumors of a potential altercation.

Nevertheless, one of the groups ignored the elders’ counsel and caused mayhem throughout the occasion.

In relation to the violence, one suspect has subsequently been taken into custody and is being held at the Kasoa Central Business District Police station.

The police took a hammer and other weapons from him when he was arrested.
