Helicopter crash: Burial rites for Murtala Mohammed and Muniru Limuna slated for August 10

Burial ceremonies for former Environment Minister Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Murtala and former Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator Alhaji Muniru Limuna Mohammed, two Muslim victims of the August 6 military helicopter disaster, have been confirmed by the Presidency.

In keeping with Islamic tradition, custom, and customs, the funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 10.

Muslim ‘Jannaza’ prayers will take place at the State House’s Forecourt at 2:00 p.m., and the burial will take place at the Military Cemetery in Accra at 2:30 p.m., according to a statement announcing the burial.

Traditional leaders, the National Chief Imam, the leader of the Ambariya Sunni Group, the Speaker of Parliament, the Vice President, President John Mahama, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, and the relatives of the deceased will all be present at the ceremonies.

In the Ashanti Region’s Adansi-Akrofuom District, a Ghana Air Force helicopter crashed, killing eight Ghanaians, including the two.
