The Kpandai Constituency parliamentary election will be held again on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, according to the Electoral Commission (EC).
The declaration follows a ruling on Monday, November 24, 2025, by the Tamale High Court mandating a new poll be conducted within 30 days.
On Tuesday, December 9, 2025, the Commission got an official notice from the Clerk to Parliament stating that the Kpandai seat had been declared empty. This marked the beginning of the process.
Only the three candidates who ran in the constituency’s 2024 parliamentary election will be able to participate in the rerun, according to a statement released by the EC on Wednesday.
In addressing the contested results, the Commission pointed out that restricting the poll to the initial candidates preserves continuity.
The press release, which was signed by Fred Tetteh, Deputy Director of the EC’s Research, Monitoring, and Evaluation Department, urged the public to be aware of the new date and stated that the EC is still dedicated to election integrity, fairness, and transparency.
