Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana appoints Eric Oduro Osae as CEO

The Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG) has declared Eric Oduro Osae as its newly appointed Chief Executive Officer.

His term officially began on Monday, January 5, 2026.

Oduro Osae possesses an impressive 25-year background as a Chartered Accountant, Lawyer, and Governance Specialist.

His notable experience includes public financial management, auditing, corporate governance, and institutional reform.

A member of ICAG and a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana, he has excelled in both national and international roles.

Before this appointment, he was the Director-General of Ghana’s Internal Audit Agency (IAA), where he managed the enhancement of public financial controls.

His global profile features his role as an Audit and Assurance Advisor to the United Nations as a member of the UN General Assembly’s Independent Audit Advisory Committee (IAAC).

In 2024, his skills were further acknowledged with a designation by the United Nations as a Governmental Expert on Anti-Corruption under the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC).

Oduro Osae has earned a Doctorate in Political Economy and a Master of Laws (LL.M.), in addition to various other credentials. He is a highly active participant in professional discussions, having written and presented more than ninety papers on accounting, auditing, governance, and public finance.

He is well-acquainted with the Institute, having formerly held roles as an Examiner and Moderator in Public Sector Accounting and Finance, directly influencing the training of upcoming accountants.

In its statement, the ICAG Council urged all stakeholders, such as members, staff, students, regulators, and the media, to provide their complete cooperation and support to the new CEO. The Institute expressed optimism that with his guidance, ICAG will enhance its status as a premier Professional Accountancy Organisation in Ghana and throughout the region.
