Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, a founding member of the NPP, has voiced worries regarding the party’s choice to pursue disciplinary measures against former Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, after he referred to the party as “fake.”

In an appearance on JoyNews’ The Pulse on Tuesday, Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe characterized Prof. Frimpong-Boateng as a gentleman possessing considerable experience and knowledge, implying that he selected his words with care.

He contended that the party ought to have included him in a discussion instead of quickly opting to expel him

“The way the leadership is handling this, if not careful, will disperse party members,” he said. “We have just come out of an election where we failed nationwide. You don’t treat outstanding members like this.”

He cautioned that the existing method might create a perilous example, asserting, “If they remove Frimpong-Boateng, they may soon dismiss numerous others with comparable opinions.”

He also stressed that the NPP ought to have mobilised the grassroots, corrected previous errors, and reorganised the party framework prior to choosing its leaders.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has initiated official procedures to expel former Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, after he labeled the party as “fake” and cast doubt on its democratic practices during a television interview.

In a statement endorsed by the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the NPP indicated it had acknowledged remarks made by Prof Frimpong-Boateng on Channel One TV on Monday, 12 January 2026, where he candidly declared that he no longer views himself as a member of the party.

In a scathing condemnation of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) leadership, cardiothoracic surgeon and party veteran Prof. Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng has asserted he will not be coerced into abandoning the party he played a key role in establishing.

During a discussion on Ekosiisen on Asempa FM today, Tuesday, January 13, 2026, the ex-Minister for Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation addressed claims that the National Executive Committee (NEC) plans to expel him for calling the existing party structure “fake.”

Instead of retreating, the Professor fired a new round of criticisms, proposing that it is the present leadership—not himself—that deserves to be dismissed.
