MTN Ghana Foundation, collaborating with Cal Bank, will spearhead the 2026 “Save A Life” Blood Donation Drive, aiming to gather 7,000 units of blood in one day to back the National Blood Service and regional hospital blood banks nationwide.
The countrywide event is set for Friday, 13th February 2026, between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, with donation centers open in all 16 regions of Ghana. Key collection sites will be established at the MTN Ghana Head Office, the MobileMoney Ltd office in the Stanchart Building, and the Cal Bank Head Office in Ridge, Accra, along with 44 designated centers across the country to encourage extensive public involvement.
Prior to the exercise, Samuel Bartels – Senior Manager, Regulatory and Government Affairs representing the Acting Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer at MTN Ghana, emphasized the importance and urgency of the initiative: “Ghana still faces a significant blood shortage and every unit donated becomes a lifeline for someone’s parent, child, friend, or colleague. This campaign is not just another event. It is an act of love, a demonstration of leadership and a reaffirmation of our MTN value to lead with care.”
He called on all eligible donors, corporate institutions and the public to participate: “Blood is an essential resource, and the need for it never stops. We are appealing to Ghanaians everywhere—if you are able, please join us at any of the designated centres.

Your donation could save a mother, a child, or someone in emergency care. Together, we can make a real and lasting impact” he said.
Members of the public can access the full list of donation centres on MTN Ghana’s website and official social media platforms.
Since its inception in 2011, the MTN “Save a Life” campaign has grown into one of the country’s most impactful voluntary blood donation programmes. The initiative was launched in response to repeated appeals from the National Blood Service to address critically low blood supplies. To date, it has mobilised over 35,000 units of blood, helping save thousands of lives and supporting hospitals in life‑saving emergency and routine care.
The 2026 edition builds on this legacy—strengthening partnerships, expanding reach, and reinforcing MTN Ghana Foundation’s longstanding commitment to national health and community wellbeing.
