Dr. George Akuffo-Dampare, the Inspector General of Police, is in route to Wa, the capital of the Upper West Regional, in response to complaints made by locals about deaths and disappearances in the region.
IGP arrived in Wa this afternoon.
His arrival coincides with the discovery of a body in a nearby shallow grave by members of the Bamahu village in Wa, Upper West Region, working with special purpose police intelligence and investigation teams.
Seidu Baga, who was reported missing on September 16, 2022, was eventually recognized by family members of the dead as being the body discovered on September 18, 2022, on a Sunday.
Clinical psychologists are being provided by the police to the family as psycho-social help.
The Wa Municipality and its surrounds people can rest assured that the special intelligence and investigation teams will continue to work around the clock with support from the impacted communities to bring the offenders to justice, according to a statement released by the police.
To assure any safety or security, operations and fighting teams have overrun the area.
