Following a string of altercations at the election center, the NDC internal elections that were held at the Walewale L/A Junior High School in the North East Region have been suspended.

Voting booths and other electoral equipment were vandalized as a result of alleged election irregularities that favored some incumbent Executives.

Before the misunderstanding, delegates had already cast their votes for the positions of youth organizer, deputy youth organizer, women’s organiser, and deputy women’s organiser.
Due to the lack of some ballot papers, the electoral commission authorities delayed the start of the voting procedure.

The delegates became irate because the election officials were delaying the voting process, and they did so to get the attention of the EC officials.

Witnesses said that when they saw ballots for the chairmanship position and the deputy communication job mixed up, the delegates feared foul play.

Eyewitnesses told the media that some of the delegates attempted to stop Electoral Commission employees from carrying out the election process, but they encountered fierce pushback from others.
The outcome resulted in a nighttime free-for-all.

When the altercation at the Walewale voting facility descended into complete chaos, the police were forced to use tear gas to scatter the gathering.

The voting process came to an abrupt halt.

The incident has not yet been addressed by the police or the party leadership.
