Legon Presec wins 2022 NSMQ title

In the National Science and Math Quiz, Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School (PRESEC) has won seven trophies, a record that no other school has yet to match.

On Wednesday, October 26, 2022, the dazzling blues defeated the defending champions Prempeh College and Adisadel College to retake the title of top scientific and math school in Ghana.

PRESEC finished with 50 points, Prempeh College got 41, and Adisadel College had 32 at the end of the test.

“You did it!” Elsie Effah Kaufmann, the quizmaster, applauded the winners.

At the conclusion of the competition, Legon PRESEC earned 50 points, Prempeh College had 41 points, and Adisco had 32 points.

The addition of the 2022 trophy brings PRESEC’s overall number of victories at the competition to seven.

In the years 1995, 2003, 2006, 2008, 2009, and 2020, the school took first place.

This year’s competition’s knockout round was held on the campus of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

It came down to the final three in what began as competitions between more than 100 senior high schools throughout the nation.

Adisco and Prempeh College were unable to realize their goal of taking the trophy home that were dubbed host and win was also shattered.
