Yaw Frimpong Addo, the Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture, has asserted that the government is seeing some returns on its investments in the agricultural industry.

He claims that the sector’s investment, for instance, has prevented the nation from importing any maize since 2017.

“Our duty as a ministry was to increase production which to a large extent we have succeeded. Since 2017, we haven’t imported a grain of maize into this country,” He was quoted on asaaseradio.com.

Frimpong Addo said that in order to boost the nation’s food output, the government would work more closely with the private sector.

In agriculture, an investor can provide value at several stages.

For us, it is necessary to encourage the business sector to assist us. A tight working relationship exists between the ministry and the researchers.

We provide farmers a lot of diversity to help them enhance yields, he stated.
