Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a member of parliament for Assin Central, visited the national executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Tuesday, December 20, to learn about recent events there.
Mr. Agyapong was gushing with admiration for the national officials’ efforts to unite the party and the administration for a shared goal.
Since it allows the government and other officials to communicate with each other in the implementation of policies and ideology, he stated that intimacy in party and government is crucial for ensuring unity.
In order to increase unity, he praised the national executives and asked them to work more to fortify relations between the party and the administration.
Mr. Agyapong expressed his deep worry for the party’s unity and challenged everyone who wanted to lead it to put their best efforts forward in that direction.
He stated that he would support anybody who was nominated to be the party’s leader and that he would always be willing to provide a hand to others. If he were to become the party’s next leader, he would need everyone’s support.
He claimed that because the opposition party would be harsher and more terrifying, the NPP could not afford to cede political control.
Since Mr. Asiedu Nketiah and Fiifi Kwetey are nothing more than propagandists, he recommended the NPP not to waste time on the newly elected NDC national leadership.
Mr. Agyapong remembered how in 2008, using propaganda, these same individuals created fraudulent documents, assigned money to him and other NPP appointees at the time, and caused Ghanaians to believe that they had stolen money from the government.
Even though the NDC created these falsehoods on purpose, according to Hon. Agyapong, many Ghanaians believed them, which negatively impacted the NPP’s fortunes.
Therefore, he has warned his party’s members to confront the NDC this time around rather than sit back and be callous while they mislead Ghanaians.
