The National Democratic Congress (NDC) recently held a National Youth Organizer election, and one of the candidates, Brogya Genfi, issued a warning that, if certain problems were not soon rectified, the party would become divided.
In order to prevent incumbent George Opare Addo from claiming to be the National Youth Organizer of the party, Brogya Genfi, who barely lost to him in the election, is in court.
In an interview with Starr News, Brogya Genfi stated that the problems must be rectified right now in order to maintain the party’s required coherence and unity and allow the NDC to unseat the ruling New Patriotic party in the 2024 elections.
“for example, the Eastern Regional Youth election has been annulled, why, because the Regional Youth Organizer is my supporter. Because he’s from the home region of the National Youth Organizer and he’s not supporting him, he’s gone to court to annul the election. That can also breed division and so that must be looked at. So it’s not just about the action I have taken.”
“I would love to have the chance to have a lengthy chat with the former President (Mahama) about the way forward for the party,” he continued.
In the meantime, the NDC swore in George Opare Addo as its Youth Organiser during its National Delegates Congress over the weekend, defying a court order obtained by Brogya Genfi.
