GUTA seeks advice from GHS over recent Covid-19 hikes in China

The Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA) has expressed concern on the trip to China by its members for commercial purposes.

This occurs before China begins to waive the quarantine rule for visitors on Sunday, January 8, 2023.

The union encouraged the Ghana Health Service (GHS) to assess the “situation in China and advise Ghanaian travelers accordingly” in a statement released on Thursday, December 29, 2022, and signed by its president Joseph Obeng.

It noted that: “China is a major destination of import for many Ghanaian traders, and as a result of the long wait, most Ghanaian businesses will want to resume their business trips…”

GUTA requested that the GHS “evaluate the situation” and give the traveling public the appropriate advise in light of its worries on the present COVID-19 situation in China.
