Toll booths have become a death trap on the highway – GPRTU

Mr. Samuel Kofi Amoah, the Greater Accra Regional Deputy Communications Director of the Ghana Private Roads Transport Union (GPRTU) of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), is pleading with the Roads and Highway Minister to remove the abandoned toll booths on the Accra-Tema expressway immediately in order to save lives.

He claims that this will produce a secure atmosphere for highway driving.

In an interview with Class 91.3 FM monitored by Ghanatodayonline.com, the GPRTU’s Deputy Director of Communication made this claim.

He said that toll booths had turned into roadside deathtraps.

He emphasized that the toll booths have developed into a dangerous accident source and a highway death trap.

He lamented the lives lost on the highway due to the inactive tollbooths there.

He also emphasized the necessity of installing lamps on the highway to improve visibility at night and prevent accidents.
