Police arrest 18 people for disturbances on the University of Ghana campus

18 persons were detained by the police today, February 14, 2023, for causing disturbances on the University of Ghana campus.

The 200 individuals thought to be former students from the university’s Commonwealth Hall were present with the 18 accused.

The incident was managed by the police, and order has now been restored.

All 18 suspects are being held by the police and will appear in court to answer for their crimes.

Since then, security has been stepped up on campus to ensure that academic activities may go on as usual.

“We would like to give the assurance that all other persons involved in the disturbances will be arrested and brought to face justice” Police stated in statement issued today.
