The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) troops apprehended 72 teenagers of Ashaiman in the Greater Accra Region, where a soldier was slain over the weekend.

The military police will look into the suspects at Michel Barracks, which is close to Tema.

In addition to helicopters watching the situation, military troops descended upon the region in buses, pick-up trucks, and armored personnel carriers (APCs).

They set up from Keta House, which is close to Official Town, through to Taifa.

Another party also invaded Old and New Tulaku, seizing the suspects to aid in the inquiry.

During the invasion, citizens were lined up in the streets and brutally treated by the soldiers.

According to information collected, the soldiers were sent from Michel Camp, the Ghanaian Army’s First Battalion of Infantry’s headquarters.

In an interview, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ashaiman, Ernest Norgbey, claimed that the soldiers from Michel Camp, of the First Battalion of Infantry of the Ghana Army based at Tema, were the ones who reportedly invaded the houses of some citizens in Ashaiman and brutalized them.

On March 7th, Mr. Norgbey stated that “I know the men (military men) are coming from Michel Camp. I have called the head there but his line is unreachable.”

Those responsible for the crime (killing the military officer) should confront the full force of the law, he continued.

According to a witness, “a military member was slain nearby, and the troops are now going from house to house, beating individuals.

When they see you, they tell you to enter after receiving a caution. We kind of have a limit.
