After entering a guilty plea to the accusations of staying in Ghana after the end of his visa, possessing ammo without a permit, and having falsified official papers, Huang Lei, the son of galamsey monarch Aisha Huang, was found guilty and given a fine of GH10,800.

Huang Lei and other Chinese citizens were detained in November of last year for the same offense.

Before Justice Lydia Osei Marfo, the accused earlier entered a plea of not guilty to the accusations.

However, Huang Lei’s attorney disclosed intentions by his client to alter the plea to guilty on December 16, 2022.

Then, in the criminal court before judge Comfort Tasiame, Aisha Huang’s son entered a guilty plea.

The judge then imposed a GH$10,800 punishment and a deportation order on him in accordance with his plea.

The other defendants, on the other hand, continue to face the same accusations in court and are scheduled to return on April 5 for a case management meeting.
