John Mahama, the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) flagbearer hopeful, has urged party members to put a halt to any attempts to disrupt with voting on election day.

He advised them to put in a lot of effort and vigorously defend the voting equipment in order to make sure their ballots are counted.

As part of efforts to win the 2024 general elections, he charged supporters of the party to work hard and stay awake and vigilant to police the counting process.

According to him, a computing system would be installed at the constituency offices to relay the results to the national head office in real time, adding that victory for the NDC would be confirmed by midnight.

“We’re putting a system in place and you’re all going to be involved…by twelve o’clock, one o’clock, 2am we would have received our results and we’d know that NDC has won, you can start jubilating” Mahama said.

Additionally, he charged that since his party left office in January 2017, the 15.8 kilometer Trom-Kpong roadway has not been completed by the Akufo-Addo administration. The present administration was further criticized by the former president for failing to maintain the road’s completed sections, which resulted in the road’s total destruction within a few years after construction.

Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi, a member of parliament for the Lower Manya Krobo Constituency, and John Matey, the constituency chairman, guaranteed former president John Mahama that he would receive 99.9 percent of the votes in the 2023 presidential primary elections.

On Tuesday, the prospective NDC presidential candidate also paid visits to Lower Manya Krobo, Yilo Krobo, Upper Manya Krobo, and Asuogyaman, as well as Akuapim-North.
