Ernest Yaw Anim, a newly elected New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary candidate for the Kumawu by-election in the Constituency, has refuted claims that he is a member of Alan Kyeremanten’s group, stating that he did not win the primary on the support of any NPP presidential candidate and that his main goal is to bring the party together.
In a widely shared video, Hon. Collins Owusu Amankwah implied that Mr. Yaw Anim was a supporter of Alan Kyeremanten and that his victory was a victory for him.
But he absolutely denied being a part of the Alan divide or any other NPP divisions in a news release published by the Communications Directorate of Mr. Yaw Anim’s Campaign Team.
“We have taken notice of social media postings, press releases and a video of Hon Collins Owusu Amankwah, the former MP for Manhyia North on the just-ended parliamentary primaries in Kumawu. And we will want to respond as follows:
We appreciate the prayers and support of all NPP supporters, but we want to be absolutely clear that these primaries were a local fight between family members and had no political overtones.
Contrary to what Hon Amankwah and his proxies stated, the contest was not won on the basis of a particular personality. His video comment is offensive, unworthy, and terrible. As a result, we suggest treating it with the disdain it merits and not taking it seriously.
