At Dr Mensah Market near Kejetia in the Kumasi Metropolis of the Ashanti Region, a trailer truck carrying secondhand clothing plowed into pedestrians, killing a 51-year-old cabbage seller.
The vehicle, whose brakes allegedly failed, also struck a parked taxi before running over the vendor on the side of the road.
Akua Serwaa, the deceased’s body, was mutilated by the truck following the horrifying accident.
In an interview with Ghanatodayonline reporter Jacob Agyenim Boateng, an eyewitness claimed that the accident happened on Thursday, May 4, 2023, after a truck with the license plate GT 7452-11 lost control and ran into vendors selling goods nearby.
According to information obtained by Ghanatodayonline.com, the deceased was a resident of Antoa in the Kwabre East District who often made a living by selling cabbage at Dr. Mensah Market.
The deceased’s dismembered body has been placed in the mortuary of the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
