Professor Dominic Fobih, a former Minister of Education, has angrily denied rumors that he has nine wives and was recently married for the ninth time.
Over the weekend, social media was flooded with videos of the 80-year-old former Member of Parliament for Assin South’s colorful wedding ceremony.
The assertion that the Octogenarian’s youthful, attractive wife was 27 years old and the information that this was the politician’s ninth marriage sent tongues spinning.
In a video clip from the event, the good old Professor can be seen dancing enthusiastically with his new wife, who is dressed in a white and gold beaded-lace corset gown.
The audience applauded as the couple danced to the love melody “Fatia Fata Nkrumah” by Dada KD while the elderly man held his wife’s waist and she placed her hands on his shoulders.
Prof. Fobih responded to the allegations about his marriage, however, in an exclusive interview on Starr FM on Tuesday monitored by Ghanatodayonline.com. He claimed that the article about his most recent marriage was fabricated out of ignorance and deceived the public.
“I don’t have nine wives, I have one wife, I just got married. I didn’t have a wife before so I’ve just got married. Who in Ghana has nine wives. If anybody is commenting on nine wives the person has been misled. Those who are commenting are commenting on what they’ve read and that is borne out of ignorance.”
Also denying that his youthful wife is 27 years old, the former Cabinet Minister stated, “She’s 31 years now and a Medical officer.”
He characterized himself as a determined individual who always does what is best for him.
