The schedule for the 2023 New Patriotic Party’s(NPP) presidential and parliamentary primaries has been made public.
The party declared that the presidential primary nomination period will begin on Friday, May 26, 2023, and end on June 24, 2023.
Any necessary special elections for the Electoral College will take place on August 26, 2023.
On November 4, 2023, the National Congress will be held to pick the party’s presidential nominee.
Aside from that, the party has also disclosed the schedule for the parliamentary primaries in both orphan and MP-held constituencies.
On June 16, 2023, nominations for orphan constituencies will be accepted; they will expire on July 14, 2023. The election period is from August 1 to December 2, 2023.
On the other hand, nominations for seats where MPs are currently in office will be accepted beginning on December 20, 2023, and ending on January 4, 2024. The date of the elections is February 24, 2024.
The NPP has urged all members who wish to run for the various positions to pay attention to the dates and follow the guidelines governing the primary elections.
The party hopes that the elections will be held in a calm and open environment and that the most deserving candidates will win.
