James Gyakie Quayson, a National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for member of parliament, has declared in support of his candidacy that he will fight for the district to the very end.
He said this while campaigning in the Assin North constituency in advance of the June 27, 2023, by-election.
The expelled MP expressed his undying resolve to keep running for the seat despite obstacles and being removed from office in a video uploaded by TV3 in Accra that GhanaWeb was able to view.
“I will fight for Assin North with my last breath. In every family, there is a Judas, as you are trying to pack things up others will be ready to destroy. But I know whoever is fighting something not for selfish gain but for the gains of the public, God crowns his efforts. The vision here is not a selfish vision. It is a vision for the whole Assin North community and its people. So, I know definitely we will achieve it,” Mr Quayson stated.
The National Democratic Congress and the MP candidate were further urged to unite their efforts in order to’recapture’ the seat in the by-election.
“Let’s work together as a team. Joe Quayson will be arrested as soon as he enters this building, according to some, among others. I came from Accra, and no one could stop me. I only fear God; I have no other fears.
There is nothing that has happened in my life that has made me fearful. I am no longer moved by anything done to me, as much as I have lived,” he continued.
He went on to announce that he would still run for the Assin North Constituency despite the inconvenience.
