Sampson Kidisil, a 24-year-old evangelist, was found guilty of stealing a motorcycle and raping pupils, and the Nkwanta Magistrate court sentenced him to eight months in prison.
The accused was sentenced by the presiding judge, Joseph Evans Annang Okorokpa, after he entered a not guilty plea to the charges.
The accused, who claimed to be an evangelist stationed in Kpassa in the Nkwanta North area, was apprehended after a complaint was made at the station, police prosecutor Lawrence Wiafi said the court. June 11 saw the arrest of Mr. Kidisil.
The prosecutor claims that Mr. Kidisil was detained for defrauding students and having sexual relations with them.
He has slept with one at Kpassa and slept with two at Nkwanta, one from Nkwanta senior high school and the other from Nkwanta community technical school.
After his detention, there was another incident in Kpassa where the preacher stole a motorbike from someone while he was shopping in town and rode it to Nkwanta, where he was eventually apprehended.
He was found guilty and given an 18-month hard labor term.
