The late Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur’s widow, Matilda Amissah Arthur, has revealed that she frequently encouraged her husband to step down when he served as Vice President of Ghana.
Her husband ignored her pleas for help despite her repeated appeals.
This disclosure was made by Matilda Amissah Arthur in an upcoming interview with Accra-based Joy News in answer to a query on whether she wanted her spouse to quit owing to the demanding nature of his job.
She stated plainly that she had requested his resignation “many times.”
Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur, an economist and former governor of the Bank of Ghana, presided over the economic management team for President John Dramani Mahama while serving as vice president of Ghana.
On June 29, 2018, during a fitness training session, he unexpectedly passed away.
Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur took over as vice president with President Mahama after the unfortunate death of President John Evans Atta Mills, who was Ghana’s first president to die in office.
