The case involving a police officer who is accused of fatally shooting his girlfriend at Adum in the Kumasi Metropolis of the Ashanti region has been postponed by a Kumasi High Court.

Despite the presence of the accused, Inspector Ahmed Twumasi, the case was postponed due to the lack of a defense attorney.

As a result, the court postponed the case to July 26, 2023.

Victim Victoria Dapaah, better known as her stage name Maadwoa, was allegedly shot by the suspect.

He was detained and charged with murder in the Asokore Mampong District Court, where he entered a not-guilty plea.

However, the District Court referred the matter to the High Court for consideration.

On May 31, the Asokore Mampong District Court accused Inspector Ahmed Twumasi of murder.

The office of the Attorney General has provided its opinion, and the committal procedures will begin during the next hearing, the region’s Head of Legal and Prosecutions, ACP Kofi Blagodzi, assured the family of his organization’s commitment to ensuring that justice is served in the matter.
