The residents of New Kordiabe have accused Nene Tei Djahene Korabo, the Chief of Jopanya in the Shai-Osudoku District of the Greater Accra Region, of attacking them with his landguards on a daily basis and forcibly claiming ownership of their lands, despite the fact that New Kordiabe is far from the Chief’s governing territory.

Joseph Akamah, the Chairman of the New Kordiabe Landlords association, said during a press conference in the town yesterday, “We have halted all our daily activities due to the harassment by the landguards hired by Nene Korabo to attack us.”

“We have halted all our daily activities due to the harassment by the landguards hired by Nene Korabo to attack us.”

According to him, they legally acquired the land years ago and expressed worry over why they should be prevented from developing their properties.

He alleged that the Chief had joined hands with his son, Mr. Benjamin Nargeh, who was the Parliamentary Candidate (PC) for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in both the 2020 and 2024 general elections for the Shai-Osudoku Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, to harass them out of their legally acquired properties for thousands of Ghana cedis.

“The illegal activities by the landguards are creating an unsafe environment for them as legitimate citizens of Ghana,” he said, calling on the Inspector General of Police (IGP), President John Dramani Mahama, the Minister for the Interior, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Linda Akweley Ocloo, who also serves as the Greater Accra Regional Minister, and other authorities to come to their aid before things escalate.

When contacted, the NPP 2024 PC denied all the allegations and urged the people to follow the court’s decision.
