The Queenmother of ACherensua Nana Mintah Yeboah II, has advised senior high school graduates to approach life with ambition and responsibility as they step into adulthood.
In an interview with Ghanatodayonline.com Reporter Esther Amankwaah during the Doti yie of Asantehemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom III at the Manhyia Palace, The Queenmother Nana Mintah Yeboah II reminded the graduates that completing school is only the beginning of life and not an end in itself. She encouraged them to pursue higher aspirations and avoid early distractions.
“Now that you are adults, it doesn’t mean that is all. You must be ambitious,” she said. “In Ghana, our Vice President is a woman, and this shows that every woman can achieve great things. Completing school should not lead you into early pregnancy or rushing into marriage. Think ahead, work hard, and focus on what lies ahead of you.”
She further urged the youth who may not have the opportunity to continue formal education to learn a trade or skill. “Not everyone can go to school, but that doesn’t mean it is the end of your life. Get a handwork and do something meaningful” she emphasized.
Nana Mintah Yeboah II also advised young people to make productive use of social media. According to her, platforms can serve as spaces to learn valuable skills rather than for insults, negative peer influence, or unproductive activities.
