The Odododiodoo Member of Parliament (MP), Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, believes that in order to undo the negative legacy of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Ghanaians would elect John Dramani Mahama in the forthcoming December elections.

“He is the most corrupt president in our history. He is the one who has collapsed our economy. Ghana’s economy today is worse than at any time in our history. Is that the legacy he is talking about? Of course, John Mahama will come and correct all,” he said

In a recent statement, President Akufo-Addo pleaded with the populace not to support the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate in the impending elections in December, cautioning that doing so might undermine the advancements made under his administration and the country’s course.

Ghanaians, according to Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, are prepared for change. She refuted these claims in an interview with Citi FM.

He said President Akufo-Addo ought to have apologized to Ghanaians for what he called serious mistakes that caused the nation to experience severe suffering.

Vanderpuye went on to call President Akufo-Addo the worst president in the history of the country, citing economic collapse and corruption during his tenure.

“If I were Nana Addo, the best thing I would do as a person is to apologise to the millions of Ghanaians who voted for me and whom I have hugely disappointed. Nana Addo will go into history as the worst president ever in the fourth republic of this country.

But Nii Lante Vanderpuye highlighted how John Mahama could repair the allegedly bad legacy President Akufo-Addo left behind, especially when it came to youth unemployment and joblessness, giving Ghanaian youth hope for the future.
