“Akufo-Addo knows that I am coming back to the Jubilee House” – Mahama

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo may be preparing for an NPP defeat in the December 7 elections, according to John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), indicating a growing acceptance of the ruling party’s deteriorating chances.

Speaking to supporters on Monday, November 4, 2024, in Biakoye, Oti Region, Mr. Mahama cited recent remarks made by the President, construing them as a tacit admission that a change in power may be imminent.

In order to demonstrate his preparedness to pass over authority in the event that the NDC wins, Mr. Mahama emphasized at the gathering President Akufo-Addo’s recent promise of a peaceful transfer of power.

“The reason you must vote for the NDC is that we will go after all who have stolen from the public purse.

“Dr. Bawumia cannot hold them accountable. That was why he said he would not hand over power to me,” Mr. Mahama. Stated.

He then referenced Akufo-Addo’s commitment to respecting the election results, seeing it as more than a democratic promise but a reflection of the NPP’s waning influence.

“But recently, I heard him say he will hand over power to whoever wins.

“It is just because he knows that the NPP is about to lose the election. He knows that John Dramani Mahama is coming back to the Jubilee House,” he added.
