President Akufo-Addo has pledged to integrate Youth Employment Agency (YEA) recruits into the country’s security apparatus, tackling youth unemployment and enhancing national security.

Speaking at a ceremony in Kumasi, President Akufo-Addo said the move is aimed at providing employment opportunities for the youth and enhancing the country’s security.

“I am pleased to announce that we have made arrangements for all of you to be absorbed into the security services, including the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Immigration Service, and the Ghana Fire Service, among others,” the President said.

The President’s assurance is expected to bring relief to the many young people who have been eagerly waiting for employment opportunities.

The YEA was established in 2015 to provide job opportunities for young people and to help reduce unemployment in the country.

With this latest development, the President has demonstrated his commitment to addressing the unemployment situation in the country.

The recruits are expected to undergo training and orientation before being posted to their respective security agencies.

This move is seen as a major boost to the country’s security and a fulfillment of the President’s campaign promise to create jobs for the youth.
