Afrafranto Alliance presidential candidate Alan Kyerematen made a courtesy call to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, at the Manhyia Palace on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. Accompanying him were several of the Alliance’s leaders and Kwame Owusu Danso, Kyerematen’s running mate.
A larger caravan campaign tour in the Ashanti Region in preparation for the general election on December 7th included the visit. The most noteworthy outcome from the event, notwithstanding its significance, was the Asantehene’s strong support for Mr. Kyerematen’s Great Transformational Plan (GTP).
King Osei Tutu II praised Alan Kyerematen’s comprehensive GTP in his speech, calling it a visionary development plan that may lead Ghana to sustainable economic growth and prosperity.
He asked the presidential candidate to make sure Ghanaians comprehend the scope and significance of the GTP as it contains the answers to the most important issues facing the nation. The king expressed views that are increasingly shared by Ghanaians across a range of industries, who think that Mr. Kyerematen’s GTP is the best strategy for turning around the country’s economic situation.
“Even though I have not read through the entire document he presented to me, but with the little I’ve read and the explanation he gave from his speech, if this is truly his vision for the country, then he will transform Ghana. Our prayer is that all the political parties and aspirants will see what is troubling the country so that they may devise solutions to them for us to have peace and progress,” Otumfuo stated.
In endorsing the GTP, the Asantehene is not speaking alone. The initiative has also received a lot of support from well-known members of Ghana’s business community, academics, private sector, and civil society groups. The plan is acknowledged by them as strong and progressive, tackling significant issues in the domains of government, social sectors, and the economy. These endorsements, together with the powerful voice of Otumfuo, reinforce the belief that Alan Kyerematen has done a remarkable job developing a strategy that has the potential to significantly alter Ghana’s future.
Alan Kyerematen’s experience in trade and economic development is well-known, having served as the previous Minister of Trade and Industry.
The GTP, which has been created with specific, doable actions to address the nation’s long-standing difficulties, clearly reflects his expertise. The GTP’s extensive coverage across a wide range of sectors, each of which offers concise, doable answers to the issues facing Ghanaians, as highlighted by Otumfuo’s support.
