Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Overlord of the Asante people, has requested that the government deliberately work toward giving the Ghana Publishing Company Limited (GPCL) a certain percentage of state and government operations.

The King thinks that by doing this, the state apparatus will operate more effectively and efficiently and provide the state and government with higher profits.

Otumfuo stated that the GPCL was currently operating extremely well with its limited resources and that it could perform much better if it were granted contracts or quotas from state and federal authorities.

When members of the Ghana Publishing Company Ltd.’s management and board visited the Manhyia Palace on Wednesday to tell him of the opening of their first office in the Ashanti regional capital Kumasi, the Asantehene made these remarks.

The entire staff at GPCL chose to honor the Asantehene and seek guidance as they map out their plan for the remainder of the year, according to David Asante Boateng, Managing Director of GPCL, who gave the explanation for the earlier courtesy call.

Additionally, he declared that it was critical for the business to expand as it grew in order to establish regional offices in the remaining 15 regions.

He stated that they needed to notify the Asantehene that the Ashanti region’s office in Kumasi was now ready.

“We’ve been working hard to ensure that our presence is felt across the country and we are officially commissioning our office in Kumasi first week of July and set up later in Western and Oti regions subsequently.  We are also pleased to inform Otumfuo that we are going fully digital where gazette items and other operations could be done by persons who need our services seamlessly on their mobile phones after paying the processing fees”, the MD disclosed.

The GPCL’s Financial Director, Mr. Sammy Binfoh, stated that the organization was dedicated to conducting business in a contemporary manner.

He stated that after making the necessary payments to GPCL, everyone in the nation will be able to access and conduct business on the same application software platform, as GPCL had made technological investments and was prepared to roll out services on it.

Under the direction of Board Chairman Dr. Daniel Owusu Ansah and Managing Director David Asante Boateng, the GPCL also donated GHC 100,000 to the Heal Komfo Anokye Project.

They praised Otumfuo for spearheading the initiative and requested cooperation for it from other state and federal agencies.
