Ambassador at large has no office, operates from Dome – Bernard Mornah

PNC National Chairman Bernard Mornah says the
ambassador-at-large Dr Edward Mahama has no office, and he is not being
supported by the government.
According to Mr Mornah, the Akufo-Addo government
has made appointments which are unnecessary drain on the coffers of the state.
“Ambassador at Large does not have any office to
operate from as we speak. The government doesn’t have much to support his
office. He works from his Dome office. Akufo-Addo came into power on the note
of fighting corruption. He mentioned he will not engage in family and friends
kind of government but today we see him running family, friends, girlfriends
& ex-girlfriends government.
“The President is seen clearing people who are
alleged to have been involved in some form of corrupt acts. How come people
have confidence in him after all the clearing….I don’t understand that bit of
the report,” he noted on Morning Starr Thursday.
In July 2017, the President appointed the 2016
Flagbearer of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Edward Nasigri Mahama as
an Ambassador-at-Large.
He was among 21 others who have been appointed to
represent Ghana as diplomats in other countries. An ambassador-at-large is an
ambassador with special duties but not appointed to a particular country.
