The dramatic scenes that broke out during the vetting session on Thursday night have prompted the Appointments Committee of Parliament to formally apologize to Ghanaians.

Kwabena Mintah Akandoh and Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa were supposed to be vetted during the session, but tensions about scheduling caused chaos between the majority and minority members.

When the Minority Caucus suggested moving the vetting to Friday due to concerns about the process, the mayhem broke out.

The majority, however, disapproved of the proposal and insisted that the procedure go according to its original plan.

Minority members broke microphones and tables to try to stop the vetting, which caused the dispute to spiral out of control.

The Majority responded by maintaining their position, claiming that the committee was following its predetermined agenda and could not afford any disruptions.

Security guards were called in to bring the conference room back under control as emotions flared.

The Appointments Committee apologized for the inconvenience and said it was sorry for the occurrence.

They gave the public their word that steps will be taken to ensure that the vetting procedure stays civil and orderly and to stop such incidents from happening again.

The committee urged all members to preserve the integrity of parliamentary proceedings and restated its dedication to accountability and transparency.
