Armed robbers kill police in bullion van at Ablekuma

In the nation’s capital, Accra, thieves killed a police officer while attacking a bullion van at Ablekuma Fanmilk.

The only name given to the now-deceased cop is Amoah.

An amateur video shows some good samaritans attempting to free the wounded police officer from the vehicle, which bears the license plate GT 1254-10.

The assault came after a quick stop at a gas station.

The driver was unharmed and survived the attack.

The police said in a statement that they are searching for “a gang of four robbers” who ambushed the vehicle and “shot the police escort who, sadly, passed away.”

“Our prayers and thoughts are with the family of our deceased colleague, in particular, and all personnel of the Police Service in general”, the statement added.

The Police are on a manhunt to arrest a gang of four robbers who attacked a bullion van at Ablekuma Fanmilk, a suburb of Accra and shot the Police escort who has unfortunately passed on.

Our prayers and thoughts are with the family of our deceased colleague in particular and all personnel of the Police Service in general.

We wish to assure the public that we will surely get the robbers arrested to face justice.
