In the Ashanti region, Patricia Nimako, a 27-year-old Mobile Money (MoMo) vendor, was shot and killed in Krofrom.
With mobile phones and GH₵10,000, the alleged armed robbers fled.
At approximately 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 13, the two armed men shot her inside her MoMo kiosk.
According to an eyewitness, the woman was shot in front of her store after taking out cash from the bank.
“We tried to chase the perpetrators but their gun scared us, they left and went in the direction of airport road,” Evans added.
After being taken to the Manhyia Government Hospital, the woman’s death was confirmed by medical professionals.
Some locals claim they live in constant terror of the robbers’ potential reappearance.
The police have come to the area to begin investigating into the situation. Attacks by robbers targeting MoMo vendors have increased dramatically in Ghana. While some MoMo merchants have been hurt, others have been killed.
