Asamoah Gyan to chair Youth and Sports sub-committee for Bawumia’s 2024 election manifesto

Legendary sportsman Asamoah Gyan of Ghana has been assigned to a group that will draft a manifesto for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party, for the 2024 elections.

The chairman of the subcommittee on youth and sports is Asamoah Gyan.

The head of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) 2024 manifesto team is none other than Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the immediate past Majority Leader.

According to a press release from the Bawumia for President team, signed by spokesperson Dennis Miracles Aboagye, he will be deputized by information minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah.

Aside from the leaders, the list of 24 members included three coordinators of the manifesto committee and 19 chairpersons of subcommittees.

“The committee will be chaired by Hon Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu and Sector Ministers will serve as advisors to the committees.

“The Committee shall be responsible for undertaking a holistic review of the party’s 2016 and 2020 manifestos and engaging all relevant stakeholders to come up with a pragmatic 2024 manifesto,” the statement read in part.

The committee will be tasked with creating a workable 2024 manifesto by conducting a comprehensive analysis of the party’s 2016 and 2020 manifestos and involving all pertinent parties.

“The Manifesto Committee is further charged to discharge their mandate efficiently and professionally to produce a comprehensive manifesto document that can stand the test of time to address the legitimate concerns and socio-economic challenges of Ghanaians.”
