Ghanatodayonline.com has heard that the Ashanti Regional Chief Imam, a highly regarded figure in the Muslim community, passed away following a brief illness.
The Imam became ill Tuesday evening and was sent to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital’s (KATH) Emergency Unit for treatment, according to people close to his family. Sadly, he passed away from the disease not long after being admitted.
Because of his dedication to advancing peace, harmony, and development within the Muslim community and throughout Ghana, the news of his passing has shocked many people in the area and beyond.
According to family members and local authorities, plans are underway to transport his remains to his home in Suame, where customary Islamic funeral rites would be performed.
