The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has established a three-member committee to probe claims of bribery and vote buying during its parliamentary primary in Ayawaso East conducted on Saturday, February 7, 2026.
The decision comes after the party previously expressed worries regarding what it called numerous accounts of electoral misconduct throughout the internal competition.
A statement released by the party’s National Secretariat reveals that the committee will be led by former Minister of Information, Mr. Kofi Totobi Quakyi.
He will receive support from Bawku Central MP, Hon. Mahama Ayariga, along with legal expert Emefa Fugah.
The committee is responsible for carrying out a comprehensive inquiry into the claims and to present its findings by Tuesday, February 10, 2026.
The party stated that the investigation is part of its dedication to enhancing internal democracy, transparency, and ethical political behavior.
In addition to examining the allegations, the committee is also anticipated to suggest suitable penalties when required and advocate for long-term changes designed to eradicate inducement and vote buying in the party’s internal electoral procedures.
The NDC guaranteed its members, stakeholders, and the public that it continues to commit to maintaining the highest levels of integrity in its internal elections.
Supporters of the party have been advised to stay composed and let the committee execute its responsibilities without disruptions.
The party’s General Secretary, Hon. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, signed the statement.
