The vice presidential candidate and flag bearer candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has denied buying more than 100 Toyota Hilux Pickups for his campaign.

Some Ghanaians have questioned the funding for some pickup trucks that carry the slogan “Bawumia for President for 2024” on them in widely shared images and videos on social media.

Gyasi Boako, president of “Bawumia Must Win,” a pro-Bawumia Campaign group, responded to the viral photographs and videos by claiming that the vehicle was donated by supporters rather than purchased and paid for by the vice president.

In a statement, he also stated that the automobiles belonged to a group of people who supported and shared Dr. Bawumia’s agenda and that they would be utilized during the campaign before being returned to their owners.
