The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, has received appreciation from Barimah Osei Hwedie II, Chief of the Ejura Divisional Council, for being a trustworthy leader who keeps his word.
Speaking at his palace during a courtesy call by Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, the NPP running mate, the chief recognized that while it is not customary for chiefs to be involved in politics, he has had good experiences with Dr. Bawumia.
Barimah Osei Hwedie II outlined a number of commitments made by Dr. Bawumia to the Ejura community that had been met, such as the building of a state-of-the-art police headquarters and an automated water system.
He conveyed his gratitude for Dr. Bawumia’s dedication to the advancement of the community.
The chief went on to say that Dr. Bawumia has the capacity to lead Ghana, pointing to his history of keeping his word as evidence of his leadership skills.
It was thought that Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s visit to the palace was a calculated attempt to help the NPP win support in the next elections.
