John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has informed Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice president of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), that the media encounter the latter conducted on Sunday, August 25, one day after the NDC unveiled their manifesto, was done with malign intent.
Mr. Mahama believed that the purpose of the media interaction was to deflect Ghanaians’ focus away from the NDC manifesto.
He said that Dr. Bawumia’s “sudden stammering posture” during the media session exposed him.
“Just yesterday the Cedi crossed the 16 Cedi to one dollar barrier,” he declared on Tuesday, August 27, during the first day of his two-day visit to Ada as part of his Greater Accra Regional campaign. When you act with malice, it always works out in your favor. When we said that we would release our manifesto on August 24, our opponents promptly declared that they would have a media conference the next day, on August 25.
“The intention for doing that media encounter the next day after we had announced our manifesto was to get the attention of Ghanaians from the NDC manifesto, that was the main reason that they decided to do a media encounter the very next day after we launched our manifesto.
“You always end up regretting what you did with malice in your heart. You are able to detect dishonesty in others. If someone has a smooth, robotic-like speech pattern, you can tell they are lying when they start to stutter. At a press conference, someone who had been saying “ratatatata” like AK 47 began to stammer.
