Bawumia officially presents Napo to National Executives as running mate

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), formally introduced Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, his running mate, to the party’s national officials.

Today, July 1, 2024, the presentation was held at the party headquarters located in Asylum Down, Greater Accra Region.

In compliance with the NPP Constitution and the consultation process for the general acceptance of the flagbearer’s choice of running mate, Dr. Bawumia, who doubles as Vice President, presented Dr. Opoku Prempeh, the current Energy Minister, also referred to as Napo, to the national officers.

In order to get the NEC to support his choice for running partner in the next elections in December 2024, he must take this action.

The National Executive Committee and the National Council have both been invited into an emergency meeting by National Chairman Stephen Ayensu Ntim following this presentation. The National Council meeting is slated to begin at 3:00 pm, while the NEC meeting is scheduled for 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.
