Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has promised that if elected president, he will build an airport city in Manhyia North that is modeled after Accra’s Airport City.

Dr. Bawumia spoke to supporters on Wednesday as he wrapped up the third day of his Ashanti Region visit, citing his prior experience with the airport projects in Kumasi and Tamale to demonstrate his dedication to spearheading this effort.

“We would like to create an Airport City in Manhyia North so that you can benefit from it. I oversaw the discussions with the UK government on this airport. We therefore wish to establish an airport city here in Kumasi, just like we did in Accra.

“If you vote for me, by the grace of God, I can be president for eight years, and I will come back here and give accounts of my work,” he said, urging voters to back his presidential campaign.

“Promote me and let me be the president. Give me the steer and let me drive,” he said.

As he embarked on his campaign tour of the Ashanti Region on Monday, November 4, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate, said that the constituencies of Atwima Mponua, Atwima Nwabiagya North, and Atwima Nwabiagya South welcomed him with open arms.

Dr. Bawumia claimed that Ashanti Region has always embraced him and the NPP, and Monday was no exception.

“The energy and enthusiasm on display during my engagements with the chiefs, religious leaders, the youth and other persons was ample evidence that my vision filled with new ideas and bold solutions had been widely received.”

“I am confident that Ashanti Region will join the 15 other regions to elect a President whose oft-stated aim is to work assiduously to make life easier and better for every Ghanaian, with a track record to back it up. Together, we can make it possible” he wrote on his Facebook page.
