The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, has declared intentions to implement a “Buy Ghana First” program to encourage regional economic development.
He pointed out that if this strategy is implemented effectively, it will give young Ghanaians job prospects.
He claims that the policy will guarantee that all state departments and agencies give preference to domestically made goods over those that are imported, creating an atmosphere that will allow local companies to prosper and grow.
Dr. Bawumia thinks that by doing this, the economy will gain from fewer imports and local manufacturing enterprises will be greatly boosted.
Speaking to natives of Ntobroso in the Ashanti Region’s Atwima Mponua Constituency, Dr. Bawumia underlined that this strategy will increase young employment and enable local companies to expand and support the growth of the country.
