The New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s (NPP) flagbearer for the general elections in 2024, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has promised laid off workers that they will be given preference for jobs in the next NPP administration.
On Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the NPP’s Thank You Tour in Takoradi, he made the commitment while speaking to party members and locals.
Dr. Bawumia acknowledged the hardships faced by people who have recently lost their jobs in an empathetic speech.
He acknowledged the sacrifices made by individuals and stated that the NPP is dedicated to helping them regain their means of subsistence. “I know how it feels to lose your job, your daily bread,” he added.
A future NPP government, he emphasized, would put in place strong job creation programs aimed at the people most impacted by the present economic difficulties.
“I assure you that in the next NPP administration, you will be prioritised for jobs,” Dr. Bawumia said, to the crowd’s exuberant cheers.
The Thank You Tour is a component of the party’s plan to rally its supporters and reaffirm its dedication to Ghanaians in the run-up to the December elections.
Dr. Bawumia restated the NPP’s commitment to reinvigorating the economy, empowering companies, and offering long-term jobs to the country’s youth and displaced laborers.
