Ghanatodayonline has learned that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice president of the Republic and the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate, will present his campaign team’s roster to the National Executive Committee (NEC) on Monday, February 19, 2024, for approval and consideration.
According to sources with knowledge of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign composition, the NPP presidential candidate has been conducting extensive consultations with the party’s grassroots members.
“The list to be presented to NEC during its scheduled meeting on Monday will reflect the philosophy, strategy, and focus of the NPP’s 2024 campaign,” one source at the party headquarters in Asylum Down said.
After the list is presented to NEC, “Team Bawumia” is anticipated to be revealed, featuring a mix of influential political figures and dynamic individuals.
President Akufo-Addo announced the most drastic reorganization in the 4th Republic’s history last Wednesday. Eleven new deputy ministers and nine new ministers-designate were appointed, while five ministers and one deputy minister were reassigned. Thirteen ministers and ten deputy ministers lost their positions.
It brought Akufo-Addo’s government’s average age down to 47. Given the challenging campaign ahead and the kind of dynamism needed, Dr. Bawumia’s campaign team is anticipated to consist of a mix of youth and experience.
