Cheddar picks Dr Maryam Issaka Kriese as his running mate

Dr. Maryam Issaka Kriese has been announced as the independent presidential candidate and Leader of the New Force, Nana Kwame Bediako, popularly known as Cheddar,’s running mate for the December 7 presidential election.

At a press conference in Kumasi, Nana Bediako made the news and emphasized Maryam’s qualifications and background, calling her the ideal candidate to assist him in guiding the nation toward prosperity.

“As Senior Manager at the Securities & Exchange Commission, Ghana, she helped shape the nation’s financial landscape through strategic oversight of investments, licensing of capital market operators, and the development of critical regulations. Her role in training market operators and educating investors places her at the forefront of financial empowerment,” he said.

Renowned scholar Maryam Issaka Kriese has taught at the University of Professional Studies in Accra and the University of Ghana Business School.

Her remarkable academic background, which includes an MBA, a PhD in finance, and advanced certifications in ERP software and Islamic finance, complements her keen financial sense. She is a well-known supporter of women’s rights and a Muslim by faith.

The New Force has been gaining traction in recent months as a result of Ghanaians’ growing dissatisfaction with the nation’s political situation.

The ticket of Nana Bediako and Maryam is anticipated to serve as a substitute for the two major political parties.

“Whether it’s reshaping policies, advancing financial education, or contributing to groundbreaking research, she stands as an indomitable force driving both Ghana and Africa toward financial inclusion and economic resilience.”

With election season approaching, all eyes will be on Nana Bediako and Maryam as they travel the nation sharing their message of change and optimism with Ghanaians.
